Using the Sigmalog Pore Pressure method
In scenarios where the overburden gradient for your study is underdeveloped or unavailable, you can use the Sigmalog Pore Pressure method to estimate the pore pressure. This method, similar to the Drilling Exponent, takes a number of drilling parameters in order to calculate the pore pressure in similar fashion to the normal pore pressure workflow.
In JewelSuite Geomechanics, the Sigmalog Pore Pressure method is implemented using the following three forms:
Sigmalog Input Specify the input logs and calculate the Corrected Sigmalog.
Sigmalog Filtering Filter using the lithology model or a combination of logs, along with the application of a boxcar filter.
Sigmalog Pore Pressure Calculate the shale and non-shale sigmalog pore pressures to find the merged sigmalog pore pressure.
