Caliper

With the caliper strip, JewelSuite Geomechanics performs a rapid, customizable breakout analysis of four-arm or six-arm caliper data. The results of the breakout identification provide critical constraints on in-situ stress and rock strength for the analysis of wellbore stability, fracture permeability, reservoir performance and fault seal integrity. Using customizable filters, you can perform a full analysis of the shape of the wellbore cross section. This will enable you to distinguish stress-induced wellbore breakouts from other features, such as drilling-induced keyseats or washouts. After running the workflow, you have the option to display the results in a 3D View, visualizing the wellbore geometry (and breakout position) as determined by the caliper tool measurement.

Prior to performing the breakout analysis, you can use the filter options to distinguish between keyseats, washouts and breakouts. For a quick interpretation, the breakout results are presented in a comprehensive set of plots available in the Tools section of the strip.
