Caliper Analysis View

The Caliper Analysis View is a dedicated Well View and is available for both 4 arms and 6 arms caliper data. Each has a dedicated view. Viewing the data at the same depth scale will help you to visually examine the data at different steps in the analysis process.

Markers  Plots the marker(s).

Well Schematic   Plots the well schematic (if data is available).

P1AZ or RB  Plots the azimuth of the first caliper arm or the relative bearing, depending on the selection you have made on the Input Definition form.

Elongation Azimuth  Plots the azimuth of the largest borehole diameter.

Bit size, Cmin, Cmax Plots the minimum and maximum caliper measurements (green and blue solid lines) and the bit size (black dashed line). Yellow shading between the calculated Cmin and Cmax curves allows for easier visual identification of enlargements. Depth intervals that contain null data flags are not plotted.

Ac, Cmin-Cmax  Plots the coefficient of asymmetry (red line), the difference between the maximum and minimum caliper measurements (blue solid line).

Shape Coefficient  Plots the coefficient of shape (black line) and the corresponding filter parameter (red lines).

Important  You can adjust the Shape Coefficient interactively in the dedicated Caliper Analysis Well View. If the lock on the Caliper Analysis form is open, the updated results are shown immediately.

Breakout Azimuth (or Position)  Plots the azimuths or positions of enlargements due to breakouts, that are satisfying all of the requirements set in the filter parameters.

Lithology  Plots the lithology (only if a lithology model is available).
