Open Solution Folder
With the Open Solution Folder button (home > Solution > Tools) you can open a windows explorer with the folder location where you have saved your solution selected. This gives you quick access to any data associated with your solution, e.g. data belonging to a simulation case.
When working with an unsaved solution, the windows explorer will open with the following location: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Baker Hughes\Temp\<temporary name>.
When working on DMS, the windows explorer will open with the following location: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Baker Hughes\DMS\. You can also store any data that is related to your solution here, e.g. PDF files that you attach as auxiliary data, which will then be saved to DMS when you save your solution. Upon reloading the solution, the data will be available.
File Size Limitations for DMS Solutions
When working with solutions on DMS that have files in the solution folder, there is a limit of 1 GB per single file in that solution folder. This limitation is in place because the upload time for massive files would be significant and this will negatively impact performance.
All files larger than 1 GB are automatically skipped during the upload process, and a warning message is displayed for each file that is unable to upload.
Workarounds for Large Files
If you are working with large data files, such as reservoir simulation result files that exceed 1 GB, consider the following approaches:
Manual File Sharing: Share large result files manually with other users who need access to them, for example via network shares. This ensures that the files remain accessible without impacting the DMS solution upload process.
Duplicate Subset of Results: If you want to keep a subset of reservoir simulation results stored within the solution, you can select the specific property you want to retain and create a duplicate using the Duplicate option. This creates a duplicate of the property that is not dependent on the simulation results file. The duplicated data will be stored inside the solution on DMS and will be available to other users who do not have access to the original results file. Important: Only use this approach for a limited set of results, never on all results from a result file, as this can cause the solution data size to grow exponentially.
