About well correlation

If you have a large number of wells, you may find it useful to group and filter them so they are easier to find. See Organizing your wells with grouping and filtering for details.

The Well View

The Well View is the most important type of display for detailed QC and analysis of well log information. In addition to well log correlation and marker picking in the view, you can perform the following in a Well View:

  • Well matching  (can be performed at different stages during modeling): You can see mismatches between markers and their respective surfaces.
  • Zone definition  (part of reservoir definition): The definition of stratigraphic hierarchy used by volumetric assessment and reservoir modeling/flow simulation is best done with the relevant logs displayed in the Well View.

The Well View is an interactive view, you can use the JewelExplorer to display wells, logs and markers in the view for QC and analysis purposes. It also includes functionality such as: filter data in the view by depth, zone or log, and display fault gaps, overlap, and inflection points in the tracks. See Well View for more information.
