The Well Engineering Center pane
The Well Engineering Center pane allows you to access the online Well Engineering Center (WEC) application. With WEC, multiple teams working across different disciplines on well plan development are connected. With access to WEC there is transparency across the technical well planning, design and engineering phase. All the tasks that are assigned to you in this project are listed in the WEC pane in JewelSuite Geomechanics. To access WEC, click the Online WEC button . To refresh the data from the server, click the Refresh button .
Displayed by default on the right of your screen, you can show and hide the pane by selecting Workspace > Panes > Well Engineering Center in the top-right corner of the application.
After you have successfully accessed WEC, use the top part of the pane to connect to a Project. You can only connect to projects that have been assigned to you in WEC. Once you have connected to a project, it works as a filter for the next setting, selecting a well. After selecting a well, it works as a filter for the next setting, selecting a job. From the Product Service Type (PST) drop-down list, select a service type. Next, you select an activity and a task. A task has to be completed by performing all the steps listed in the Steps tab.
Using the Well Engineering Center you can:
In the Steps tab you can view the steps that have been assigned to you. Steps are listed per task. Select the project, well, job, activity, product service type, and task from the respective drop-down lists to display the steps. If there is only one item in the drop-down, it will be selected by default. The tab also displays the total count of steps.
You can assign a status - Not Started, In Progress, or Completed from the Status drop-down list. The status is also updated in WEC.
In the Documents tab, you can download documents from WEC to your machine, and upload documents from your machine to WEC.
To download all your files from WEC, click .
To upload a file, click , select file, category, and classification. Click OK. You can see the upload progress in percentage. Once the document is uploaded, you can see the document's name, size, and category.
- You can upload and download multiple files simultaneously.
- Uploading files with the same file name will overwrite the existing file. However, you cannot change the category and classification of the file.
