Creating your own property templates

The Property Catalog allows you to add your own property templates. Open the Property Catalog and select the Property Types tab. Scroll down to the bottom of the templates list and type:

  1. The name for your property template
  2. Choose discrete or continuous
  3. A default value (optional) + unit and unit name
  4. A value type (e.g., double, float, etc.)
  5. A scale type (e.g., normal or logarithmic)
  6. A default color set + color (optional)
  7. The color set minimum and maximum (optional) + if that range is global (optional)

Click the Apply button to add the new Property Template to the catalog, or click OK to add the new property template and close the form.

New property templates are added at the bottom of the table on the Property Catalog form. When you open a property type list anywhere in the application, the new property type is also listed at the bottom of that list. After saving, closing and reopening the application, all property type lists are sorted alphabetically again.

Now your new Property Template will be available for selection where applicable (for example, when importing data, create new properties using the calculator, etc.).

Your property templates are saved in the solution. Other users that open this solution will be able to use the property templates.

To save the property templates in the default catalog, click Save as default catalog on the Property Catalog form. The next time you start the application all your added Property Templates will be available for any solution.
