Adding a well schematic to your Well View
The five pre-installed Well View templates do not include a well schematic track, therefore to graphically display your well schematic data, such as a casing scheme, in a Well View you first have to set up your Well View with the Template Editor. You can either use an existing template and rename it, or you can create a new (empty) template. To add a well schematic track to a Well View template:
- To create a new template, select None in the Template drop-down list in the Well View toolbar.
- Right-click in your Well View, and select the Edit Template... option. The Template Editor opens.
- In the track explorer on the left, click the + Track tab or right-click the name of the template and select Add track.
- Select the new track in the track explorer and in the settings pane change the name of the track.
- Right-click the new track and select Add well schematic.
- You can change the settings of the template and the track by selecting it in the track explorer, and adjusting the settings in the settings window. When you are done with adjusting the settings, click Apply to apply the changes and keep the Template Manager open, or click OK to apply the changes and close the form.
- In the Well View toolbar, click the save icon. This will open a new form, where you can type the name of the template.
- Click Save.
- The template you have created will be automatically selected for the Well View.
You can use the same steps to add a well schematic to an existing template. Instead of selecting none, select an existing template. Since you cannot save changes to the pre-installed templates, you have to rename the template. For existing user created templates, saving changes and updates is allowed.
To change the scale and/or the display settings of the well schematic track, use the options provided under Scale Settings and/or Display Settings, on the Template Manager form. You can also use the well schematic context menu options in the Well View, to access the Template Manager and edit the well schematic data. Depending on the object you click on, in the track, you access the corresponding context menu. For example a right-click on the displayed caliper log, opens the continuous log context menu, while a right-click on the casing scheme opens the one for the well schematic. You can select one of the following options from the well schematic context menu:
Edit Template Opens the Template Editor in which you can edit the well schematic settings.
Edit Casing Scheme Opens the Casing Scheme form in which you can edit the casing scheme of the selected wellbore or create a new casing scheme.
Casing Scheme Select to display a casing scheme in the well schematic track or hide it.
Caliper Log Select to display a caliper log in the track together with a casing scheme or hide it.
Remove from Track Removes the displayed casing scheme from the well track.
