Cleaning up solutions

Important Cleaning up solutions should be performed with care. Not all references should be deleted. Proceed with caution to avoid the risk of data loss.

Solutions can contain references to add-ins installed on the particular machine they were saved on. If they are subsequently opened on a machine that does not have these add-ins, JewelSuite Geomechanics will display Binder warnings.

It is possible to 'clean up' such solutions by removing such references.

The Clean Up Data... button on the Solution Settings form (home > Settings > Solution Settings) allows you to do this. This button is normally disabled. In order to enable it, you must start the application with the command line parameter -datacleanup. From the command prompt type:

[Path to the JewelSuite executable] -datacleanup

Then open the solution you wish to clean up and display the Solution Settings form. Click the Clean Up Data... button and, on the form that appears, check the checkboxes next to the add-in types you want to remove. Click OK and, after confirming you wish to remove the references, save the solution under a different name (only the Save As and not the Save option will be available).
