Removing nodes from 2D grids

For details on how to start using the tools on a particular 2D grid, see Graphical editing with the floating palette.

The floating palette (Tools > Editing Tools at the right of the Strip) contains tools for cleaning up 2D grids by removing nodes from them. You can use these tools on a 2D grid in a 3D View or a 2D View.

Remove Node  (Shortcut key: Ctrl+Q) Remove a node. Select the 2D grid and then the tool. Click on the node you want to remove. Use Ctrl+Shift+click and drag to remove multiple nodes under a rectangle.

Remove Nodes Under Line  (Shortcut key: Ctrl+L) Remove multiple nodes at the same time by drawing a straight line. All nodes under the line are removed. Select the 2D grid and then the tool. Click anywhere on the 2D grid in the view to create a line. A second click will end the line and remove the nodes below the line.

Use the shortcut keys to quickly select and switch between tools when working on a 2D grid.
