Filtering in a Well View
You can filter the data in a Well View by depth, zone, log or a combination of zone and log. Depth filtering allows you to constrain the displayed depth to a specified interval. Zone filtering provides a means of restricting the visible data to a certain zone or range between two specified markers. With log filtering you can filter the data by a fluid compartment log, for example, and limit the visible data in the view to only that which resides in a certain fluid compartment.
You specify the filtering on the Filtering form which you can open by clicking the Filtering
button in the toolbar for the Well View. Here, you can choose to apply a zone, log, or combination of the two to the view for filtering purposes. When defining a zone or range of interest, a top and bottom marker will need to be specified from a specific marker set. The data in the view will then be filtered to only show the well data in the interval defined by the two markers. Log filtering can be applied by specifying a log and then choosing which of its associated classes are to be used as the filter. Filtering on log will take the first and last occurrence of that class.
To aid in understanding the context of the filtered data you can apply an offset distance above and below the chosen filter for which well data will continued to be displayed, regardless of the selected filter. By using an offset you can observe well data as it approaches and departs the filtered area, providing you insight as to how the filtered data relates to the well data on a broader scope.
The Filtering button in the toolbar indicates whether or not you are applying a filter:

Using the Filter form
Click the Filtering
button in the Well View toolbar to open the Filter form. Choose to filter on None, Zone, Log, Zone + Log or Depth.
None Removes any filtering that you have applied to the Well View.
Zone Allows you to select the marker interpretations and bounding markers to define the zone. An offset above and below your specified zone can be used to observe the context in which the zone resides.
Log Allows you to select the log that will be used to filter the data. An offset can be used to display data above and below the range of the log for context.
Zone + Log Combines all of the filtering settings found for Zone and Log filtering. When filtering using both, ensure that the filter settings are specified according to your wishes; the Both filter is applied to the Well View using only the settings you specify here, and ignores any settings made for only for Zone or Log.
Depth Allows you to constrain the data that is displayed in the Well View to a particular depth range.
