Creating volumetric concepts
With the Create Concepts form (concept > Concepts > Create Concepts), you can create one or more volumetric concepts. For more on volumetric concepts in JewelSuite Subsurface Modeling, see Using the concept strip. The volumetric concept(s) you create here are managerial; you provide a name and describe the idea behind the concept(s). After clicking Apply or OK at the base of the form, the newly created concept(s) can be visualized in the Concept View. where they are shown as a horizontal diagram with the subsequent modeling steps from left to right (with no domain models assigned yet, you do that in the next step of the workflow) and where you can give each concept a probability. This way you can incorporate conceptual uncertainty in your volumetric uncertainty calculation.
Often concept definition is an iterative process and concepts are updated as data interpretation progresses and views change. Volumetric concepts in the volumetric scenario can therefore be updated, added and removed at any stage during the modeling task.
To create a new volumetric concept
- Select a volumetric scenario the Scenario drop-down list or create a new volumetric concept to the volumetric scenario by clicking on the plus sign
and type the name in the field below. - Optionally, give a description of the concept in the Description text field. A description of volumetric concept could contain the following:
- The underlying idea
- Supporting data and interpretations
- Involved disciplines
- Its complexities/uncertainties
- Click Apply or OK at the base of the form: all volumetric concepts that are contained in the selected volumetric scenario will be shown as a horizontal diagram in the Concept View.
