Merge

Important  JewelSuite 2026.1 Subsurface Modeling applies the GIGS (IOGP) guidelines for geodetic integrity to ensure a consistent workspace and reduce the number of business and safety related issues that may be encountered with inconsistent data positioning. To achieve this consistency, it is necessary that imported data use the same coordinate reference system as the system assigned to the solution. See Geodetic integrity for more information on the application of GIGS (IOGP) guidelines in JewelSuite 2026.1 Subsurface Modeling.
The drop-down options under the merge button are only enabled when your solution is saved to DMS.

The Merge button (home > Solution > Merge) opens a drop-down list with various merge options. A DMS solution can be merged with another DMS solution, or with a solution saved to JewelFile (select Merge > File).

There are two main working scenario's:

When two users work simultaneously in the same DMS solution, they can merge updates. Whenever an update to an object is saved on one solution, the icon on the Merge button changes into a lightning bolt in the other solution. You can then use the option Merge > Updates from Current Solution to do the merge.

When two users work with the same data in different DMS solutions (both solutions need to have the same CRS), and an object is updated (saved change) in Solution A, the object (or the object's folder) gets a lightning bolt in front of it's icon in the JewelExplorer in Solution B. The user of Solution B can either merge the update with the Merge > DMS Solution option under the Merge button, or use the Objects Updates form.
