Open from DMS
Select Open from DMS (home > Solution) to open a solution that was previously saved to DMS (i.e. with Save to DMS). Once a solution has been saved to DMS, you, or anyone who has access to it can open the solution from the DMS server at any time.
To be able to open a DMS solution you first have to connect to DMS, see Connecting to DMS. After you have established the connection, the Open from DMS form opens.
JewelSuite Subsurface Modeling is not forward compatible. Solutions created in a newer version of the application cannot be opened in an older version.
To open a DMS Solution
- At the top of the Open from DMS form, the Server URL text field shows the DMS server to which you are connected.
- Optionally, you can change the DMS server by clicking on the DMS connection settings button
at the top-right of the form. This opens the 'DMS Connection' dialog. Note that you can only change the server when you do not have a DMS solution open. - In the Select a DMS Solution section on the form, all folders to which you have access are listed. Select the solution you want to open.
- Check the Hide inaccessible folders checkbox if you want to display only those folders to which you have access.
- At the base of the form, click Open to close the form and open the solution.
To disconnect from DMS
The 'Open from DMS' form provides the functionality to disconnect from DMS.
Important
You cannot disconnect from DMS while having a DMS Solution open. First close the DMS Solution, and access the 'Open from DMS' form again via a newly created solution, or a solution that was saved to JewelFile (*.jewel).
- Click on the DMS connection settings button
at the top-right of the 'Open from DMS' form. The 'DMS Connection' dialog opens. - On the 'DMS Connection' dialog, click on the Disconnect from DMS button
. When successfully disconnected, the connection indicator symbol at the lower-right side of the status bar of your workspace changes from green to red.
