Well context menu

Hide  (Only for context menu is a view) Hide the well.

Show / Hide  Shows or hides the selected object (e.g. well markers, perforations) for the current well in the view (well markers show/hide for all wells, not just the current well).

Display Settings

Show Name  Choose to show only the well name, only the wellbore name, both the well and wellbore names or no names.

Color  Pick a color to display it in the view.

Derrick Color   Set the color of the well’s derrick in your 3D View.

Wellbore Color   Set the color of the wellbore(s) in your 3D View.

Trajectory Type  Select cone, line or points for the way the wellbore trajectory is represented. This display setting is only applied in the active view (which is listed in the JewelExplorer). If you select cone, more options are available in the Trajectory Color and Trajectory Radius context menu options. For more details on display settings for wellbores, see Different display options for wellbore trajectories.

Trajectory Color  Only available when the trajectory type is set to Cone. Select a color for the trajectory. Use either the wellbore color, or select a log property and use the associated colorset. For more details on display settings for wellbores, see Different display options for wellbore trajectories.

Trajectory Radius  Only available when the trajectory type is set to Cone. Select constant radius, radius property or a percentage for the trajectory radius. For more details on display settings for wellbores, see Different display options for wellbore trajectories.

MD Marks Visible   Show or hide the MD marks in your 3D View.

MD Annotation Visible   Show or hide the annotation for the MD marks.

Edit...  Open the Trajectory form with the preselected well selected to edit the settings of the well.

Duplicate   Create a copy of the well, including logs, and place it in the same folder.

Duplicate (Without Logs)   Create a copy of the well, without the logs, and place it in the same folder.

Create

Create Polyline Set   Create a polyline set from the wellbore trajectory. This polyline set is of the type 'Line', and appears in the Lines folder inside the Data folder in the JewelExplorer. The name of the polyline set is the name of the wellbore.

Create Feature  Create a feature from the well. The created feature is added to the Well Trajectories feature set.

Create Vertical Section   This option is only available when you select multiple wells at once. It opens a dialog where you can select what type of vertical section to create:

  • One VCS for each wellbore  Create a vertical section for each wellbore that you have selected. Specify an extension distance and click OK to create the vertical sections. They are stored as one vertical section object with the name 'Well Section', which appears in the Cross Sections folder in the JewelExplorer.
  • Regression (projection)  Create a vertical section for each wellbore that you have selected. Specify an extension distance and click OK to create the vertical sections. The vertical sections are connected from one wellbore to another using regression. They are stored as one vertical section with the name 'Well Section', which appears in the Cross Sections folder in the JewelExplorer.
  • Genetic (shortest way)  Create a vertical section for each wellbore that you have selected. Specify an extension distance and click OK to create the vertical sections. The vertical sections are connected from one wellbore to another using the shortest path. They are stored as one vertical section with the name 'Well Section', which appears in the Cross Sections folder in the JewelExplorer.

Create Wellbore Section   This option opens the Create Wellbore Section form, with which you can create a vertical cross section which laterally follows the wellbore like a curtain. Note that the pane is not curved, but consists of multiple flat panes. On the form, select the 'Well group', 'Well' and 'Wellbore' for which you want to create the section. Specify the 'Extension distance' with which the canvas is extended laterally beyond the end MD of the wellbore. The section appears in the Cross Sections folder in the JewelExplorer. You can vertically clip the extent of the wellbore section with the options under 'Cross section display' in the wellbore section's Property Inspector.

Create Default Logs...   Create default logs for the wellbore trajectory or trajectories: MD, TVDSS, Northing, Easting, or Well target zone log.

In Model Data   Toggle to activate/deactivate the well and include/exclude the well's markers in the various modeling processes where markers are used as input, such as building of the structural model, well matching, or adding a marker-based surface to the 3D grid. By default the toggle is on. When the toggle is off, the well is inactive and all the markers of the well will be ignored.

Well View (Only for context menu in JewelExplorer) Open a new Well View.

3D View Camera

Focus on Bottom Hole   Set the focus of the 3D View on the bottom hole.

View History  Open the Audit Trail to view a history of changes, including user name, date, context, workflow process, workflow panel, and description. For more on the Audit Trail, see Using the audit trail.

Auxiliary Information

Add  Select one of the options to add auxiliary data of the selected type.

File   Add information in the form of a file. In the dialog, navigate to the file you want to include and select it. You can include a wide variety of file types, including pdfs, images (*.bmp, *.jpg, *.gif, *.png, *.tif), movie files (*.avi, *.mpg, *.wmv, *.mov, *.qt, *.mp4), Excel™ spreadsheets (*.xls, *.xlsx), Word™ documents (*.doc, *.docx) and PowerPoint™ presentations (*.ppt, *.pptx). Click Open to select it and open the Add Auxiliary Information form.

Note   Add a note using the Add Auxiliary Information form. After making a selection and entering the required information, click OK to save your settings and add the note.

Hyperlink   Add a hyperlink using the Add Auxiliary Information form. Enter a (descriptive) name for the link and the URL (address). Click OK to save and add the link.

DMS Link   Add a link to a DMS solution using the Add Auxiliary Information form. Connect first to DMS, and select a solution from the 'Select a DMS Solution' form. The DMS server url where the DMS solution you selected is stored, shows in the Address field. Enter a (descriptive) title and click OK to save and add the link.
