The Facies Trend Maps workflow
A facies trend map is a representation of the probability of occurrence of a certain facies class throughout the model. With the Facies Trend Maps workflow (model > Facies) you can create a 2D facies trend map based on discrete well log data, and optionally with user-defined constraints such as nodes, polylines and/or patches.
Once you complete the workflow, you can use the resultant normalized facies trend map as a 2D trend in Facies Modeling workflow (model > Facies > Trends and Proportions). Based on this trend (i.e. probability), a certain facies class is assigned to a grid cell.
