Creating a new well plan

You can create a new well plan, or continue working with an existing well plan, using the Create Well Plan form (plan > Wells > Create Well Plan). To start working with a new well plan, make sure 'Create new' is selected in the Well plan drop-down list, and provide a name for the well plan in the field underneath. To continue working with an existing well plan, select it from the drop-down list.

On the bottom part of the form, specify in the 'Type' section whether the well is to be a surface well or a sidetrack of an existing well. If you select sidetrack, the 'Parent wellbore' section will be activated. Select a parent wellbore from the drop-down list.

Click OK to create the new well plan or set an existing one to active, and move on to the Well Plan Settings form where you can specify the well plan in detail.
