Extending tri-meshes by a certain distance

Unlike the other Tri-mesh Extend tool that is also part of Structure Builder, this tool simply extends tri-meshes in space, not up to other tri-meshes. It does not take other tri-meshes into account during the extend process.

With the Extend form, you can extend tri-meshes by a certain amount in any direction. You can also clear, retract and extend intersections to other surfaces, if needed, with the other editing tools.

  1. From the Model drop-down list, select the source/model containing the tri-meshes you want to extend. The tri-meshes in this model will then be shown in the Tri-meshes table below.
  2. Set the distance you want to extend the tri-meshes by the Extension Distance field.
  3. Check the checkboxes next to the tri-meshes you want to extend and select an Extension Direction (Upward, Downward, Left or Right).
  4. Click Apply to extend the tri-meshes and leave the form open, or OK to extend the tri-meshes and close the form.
