Editing tri-meshes

To manually edit a tri-mesh on a node by node basis, use the Edit... option in the context menu. The Edit... option opens a form in which you can edit the node locations in a table. Before editing these surfaces manually, you should know the relative coordinates and TVDSS of each corner of each triangle in relation to the field origin.

You can also graphically edit tri-meshes in a view using the tools available on the floating palette.

The Tri-mesh form consists of two distinct sections: the header section at the top of the form, where you may specify information like the model to which the tri-mesh is assigned and the tri-mesh name, and the data entry tables on the bottom of the form where you may enter the actual tri-mesh definition.

Tri-mesh header data

Model  Select the model which has the tri-mesh you want to edit.

Tri-mesh  Select the name of the tri-mesh you want to edit from the drop-down list.

Nodes and triangles data

In the Nodes table, enter the Northing and Easting coordinates and TVDSS for each node in the triangulated structure, relative to the solution coordinate reference system. The node ID is provided automatically (and can also be entered manually), and is set to a sequential number.

In the Triangles table, specify the node IDs for every triangle in your drawing. This indicates how to construct the triangles.

When finished, click OK to add the edited tri-mesh to your model. If there are problems with data consistency, you will see an error message about this in the Output Information pane. Once you enter a complete set of consistent data, the tri-mesh will appear in all views that show tri-meshes.

If you want to create a new tri-mesh you can also use the Create Object form that you can open using the context menu of an object in the JewelExplorer.
