Creating the property

With the last step of the workflow 'Create Property' (prepare > Surfaces > Interpolate Property > Create Property) you create the output property based on the settings of the previous workflow forms.

In case you recreate a property using the same property definition, note the following:

  • After you have made updates to any of the workflow steps you can proceed directly from that step to the 'Create Property' step without the need to open and apply each of the workflow steps in between.
  • If you are recreating a property for a representation that already has a property with the same name, it will be overwritten (you are prompted with a warning).

To create the property

  1. Open the Create Property form.
  2. Select the property definition of interest.
  3. Before you start the property creation, it is useful to open the Information Pane (Workspace > Panes > Output Information) where you can verify whether the number of nodes that are going to be interpolated are in line with your expectations. In case something is wrong with the input data, the information pane can give an early warning.
  4. Click Apply or OK to create the property. The property will be placed in the JewelExplorer under the representation as specified on the Create Property Definition form.
The created property automatically gets the name of the property definition, but once created, there is no link between the property definition and the created property. This means that when you rename a created property in the JewelExplorer, the name of the property definition is not updated, and when you rename a property definition, the name of the created property is not updated
