Adding markers from surfaces
You can add marker data to your solution by importing it via the Data strip, or you can create marker sets and markers from scratch. When manually creating marker sets you can choose to create each marker by hand, via the Markers table or marker picking with the Editing tools, or generate markers from surface data already loaded into your solution using the Markers from Surfaces tool (prepare> Wells > Markers from Surfaces). This allows you to create markers for well-surface intersections from a selected source, e.g. a seismic interpretation, fault model or structural model. When generating markers using the tool, you choose an existing marker set as the destination for the new markers, the model to use as the source for the intersections, and indicate which surfaces and wells the markers should be created for. The resulting markers appear immediately in the JewelExplorer under the selected marker set.
Important
The markers created via the Markers from Surfaces form are appended to the target marker set; existing markers are not automatically removed. If the target marker set contains markers that are incorrect or no longer needed, delete the markers via their context menu prior to generating new markers via this form.
Creating markers from well-surface intersections
- Select the target marker set to which the new markers will be added.
- On the Surfaces tab, select the source to select the surfaces from.
- Check the box for each of the surfaces that you want to create a marker for.
- Click the Wells tab and check the box for each of the wells that you want to create a marker for.
- Click OK to create the markers and close the form or click Apply to create the markers and keep the form open for additional work. In either case, the markers are created based on your surface and well selections and are available in the JewelExplorer under the marker set you selected.
