Running simulations
With the Run Simulations form you can start the actual simulation directly (i.e. monitored) or schedule one or more runs to start at a specified time in the future.
If you start a monitored run (i.e the run starts directly) you can incorporate the validation and deck building processes in the start run procedure (checkbox option on the Run Simulations form). When the run is finalized, the results are automatically imported. When you schedule a run, the inputs need to be validated and the deck needs to be built beforehand by using the 'Build deck' button on the simulation strip. Moreover, if you schedule a run, you will have to import the results with the next button on the strip 'Import Results'.
To run or schedule a simulation
Select your Simulation case from the drop-down list at the top of the form. Use the options under the Monitored tab to start a run directly, or use the Scheduled tab to start one or more runs in the future.
Before you start the run, you can use the options under Run Case to make some further specifications.
Run with Select the version of your simulator from the drop-down list. If no version is recognized automatically, you can select the Browse option and navigate to the location of the simulator executable (*.exe) on your machine. Once specified, the application will save the location for the executable.
Build deck before running Using this option will instruct the application to validate the input, build the deck, and start the simulation job. The settings on the Build Deck form (in the Workflow button group) are used. Both the validation and deck building process are still subject to fail if issues are found, in which case the process will stop.
Click Run to start the simulation run. The Log view showing the case log will appear shortly after you start the simulation. When the simulation is completed, the output file is shown automatically.
With the options under Schedule a Case you can schedule one or more runs which will be displayed in the Schedule panel at the right side of the form.

Starting time Three options are available to specify the start-time for a new run. After each specification, click Add at the base of the form, which will add the scheduled run to the Schedule panel at the right side of the form.
- At specific time Choose this option if you want to start your simulation run at a specified day and time. Once you have filled in the date and time (using the drop-down lists), click Add at the base of the form: the run will be added to the Schedule panel at the right side of the form.
- Before Case This option is only available if at least one other simulation run has been scheduled already. Choose this option if you want your simulation run to be the predecessor of another (scheduled) run that you select from the drop-down list. Click Add at the base of the form to add the simulation run to the Schedule panel.
- After Case This option is only available if at least one other simulation run has been scheduled already. Choose this option if you want your simulation run to be the successor of another (scheduled) run that you select from the drop-down list. Click Add at the base of the form to add the simulation run to the Schedule panel.
Use the icons above the Schedule pane to edit the scheduled simulation(s):
Click to refresh the simulation status in the Schedule panel.
Click to delete a scheduled simulation run.

Click to move the selected simulation run one position up or down in the running sequence. Note that you cannot move a run before or after a time-specific simulation run.
