PVT

The PVT form is used to create or edit PVT regions in the input deck. Data tables are included in this form and are used for defining black oil PVT fluid and entering the specifications for new PVT region. Access to and options for WinProp are also included in the panel.

All settings on this form are optional.

Describing and creating PVT regions

  1. Use the table to define the black oil PVT fluid.

Load settings  In the drop down box select from a list of pre-defined settings for the table.

Black oil table  Reservoir conditions, surface conditions, gas properties, and oil properties can be defined in this table. Note that the right-click context menu for each cell allows you to change the number format and units if desired.

  2. Create PVT regions from correlations. Creates a new PVT region in the current simulation case. A PVT region is a PVT model that in the simulation can be applied to a specific area of the reservoir. The simulator will identify the PVT model by its 'PVT region ID'.

PVT Region table  PVT region parameters and correlation definitions are specified in this table. Note that the right-click context menu for each cell allows you to change the number format and units if desired.

Create region  Click to create a new PVT region with the specified parameters.

  3. PVT regions can be modified through manual edits or by importing regions from other simulations. Click Edit regions to open the PVT view for the active case. If you wish to import PVT regions, click the Import region button to open an import dialog you can use to search for and select the PVT regions.
