Importing simulation results
Normally, after a simulation run is completed, the resulting output files created by the simulator are loaded into the application. However, occasionally it may be necessary to manually load the output files, for example if you started the simulation as a scheduled run. The Import Simulation Results form is used for this purpose.
-
You can select any active tNavigator™ simulation case or you can import results to a new case.
Select a simulation case Select a case from the drop-down list.
Import result data only You can import results as a new case by selecting this option. The case can be named in the text entry field under 'Import the selected file(s)'.
-
Various results files can be imported into your solution. Specify the location of files containing reservoir simulation data to import.
Grid file (*.GRID,*.FGRID,*.EGRID,*.FEGRID) Path to the file containing the grid geometry.
Initialization file (*.INIT, *.FINIT) Path to the file containing the static map property data for the simulation run.
Restart file (*.RSSPEC, *FRSSPEC) Path to the file contains the specification of the restart files or path to the unified restart files.
Summary file (*.SMSPEC, *.FSMSPEC) Path to the file containing the specification of the summary files.
-
Click the Import file(s) button to import the grid properties and well and field results from the selected simulation case or map and plot files. If you are creating a new case you can also set the name for the 3D grid in the text entry field under 'Import the selected file(s)'.
Import file(s) Imports the file(s). Upon successful import you will see a message, 'Import complete', in the Output Information pane. If a new simulation case was created upon import, a new folder will appear in the JewelExplorer with the name specified in 'Destination simulation case' field.
- If you are missing a simulation results file for an existing case, a warning message will appear in the Output Information pane. Use the Locate result files button on the form to manually locate the missing results file via the Missing Simulation Result Files view.
