Wells

The Well Data form is used to create, modify and connect well data and lift tables for the simulation input.

  1. Edit well data  Opens the well data view to display or modify well data for the current simulation case. Wells can also be imported via the Import wells button.

Edit wells  Opens the Wells view.

Import wells  Opens an import dialog through which you can import an ECLIPSE™ Schedule (*.SCH) file.

  2. Connect production data to wells   Optionally, you can connect historical production or injection data to the wells assigned to your simulation case.

Production data set (PDS)  Selects the observed production data set (PDS) to be used.

Connect production data  Creates connections between perforations and the historical production or injection data.

  3. Update wells from model

View wellbores  Opens the Well Table for editing.

Update from model  For each connected well, updates the tables on the Well Perforation tab and the Production History Matching or Injection History Matching tabs.

  4. Edit or import lift tables

Edit tables  Opens the Production Well Tables / Injection Well Tables view. Inspect data and edit if necessary.

Import tables  Click Import tables to open the data selection import window.

  5. Edit well groups   Create well groups and assign simulation group constraints. Assign selected wells to well groups.

Edit groups  Opens the well groups view for the simulation case. You can assign groups constraints for the gas production, injection, economic limit, consumption rates and production sales. Create new groups in the Well Groups tab, and specify the child and parent group in the Group Trees tab. To assign wells to the well group(s), see the following steps:

    1. Make sure you have selected the correct simulation case (Simulate > tNavigator > Simulation Case)
    2. On the Wells (Simulate > tNavigator > Wells) form, click on the Edit groups button under the Edit well groups section. This opens the well groups view for the simulation case.
    3. Open the Well Groups tab and enter the name of the group(s) that you want to create. Open the adjacent Group Trees tab and specify if the group is parent or child entity. Select a date/time in the first column from the drop down list of date/time that are used for the simulation case. The well group, along with the group constraints, is activated on this date and time of the simulation.
    4. Click on the Edit wells button on the Wells (Simulate > tNavigator > Wells) form to open the Wells view. On the Well Specification tab, assign the well(s) to the well group by selecting the group in the third column from the drop down list of well groups that are previously created.

Editing transmissibility factor manually

If you want to overwrite the default transmissibility factor values, you must remove the link between the 'JewelSuite Source' well and the 'Simulation' well. Follow the steps to manually edit transmissibility factor:

  1. On the Wells tab, Delete the JewelSuite source well entry for the well which you want to edit. Optionally use context menu of the cell to Clear Cells.
  2. Open the Well Perforation tab. Select the well that you want to edit from the table on left side. The grid connections with the well are tabulated on right side.
  3. Edit the transmissibility factors for the grid blocks perforated by the selected well. Make sure to Save the solution before building the simulation deck.
