Series Format Template Tool
With the Series Format Template Tool you create series group templates to format your production data charts. You can color and style your lines and markers by data set, entity, property and fluid types. The formatting applies to all the series in your selected time series group, excluding any individual series that you have manually formatted. To open the Series Format Template Tool, click the edit
icon from the Series Format tab on the Production Chart Tool.
At the top of the tool, you can use the toolbar to duplicate, rename, or delete your existing series format templates.

Duplicates the currently selected item in the drop-down list (i.e., the active item). |

Opens the Rename dialog, where a new name can be given to the active item. |

Deletes the active item. |
Creating a series format template
- Select
Create new from the Series format template drop-down list. Optionally, enter a name in the text field below. By default, a new template is named as 'Series Format <#>'. To modify the name of an existing template use the rename button
. - Select a 'Template type':
- Global Available for all production chart views in all Charts Views.
- Local Only available for the current production chart.
- Line You can format the lines for the selected series group.
- Show line You can show or hide series lines on your production chart using the checkbox.
- Color by Change the color of the line by selecting an option from the drop-down list: None (All black), Data set, Entity, Property type, Fluid type or Time series.
- Style by Change the style of the line by selecting an option from the drop-down list: None (All black), Data set, Entity, Property type, Fluid type or Time series.
- Thickness To change the line thickness, enter a number in the field or change the number with the arrow buttons.
- Interpolation To choose how data points are connected, change the line's shape attribute to the desired the interpolation method. You can select an option from the drop-down list: Linear, Spline, Stairstep Hv (horizontal, then vertical), Stairstep Vh (vertical, then horizontal).
- Marker You can format the markers (in this setting markers means the data points) for the selected series group.
- Show marker You can show or hide markers on your production chart using the checkbox.
- Color by Change the color of the marker by selecting an option from the drop-down list: None (All black), Data set, Entity, Property type, Fluid type or Time series.
- Style by Change the style of the marker by selecting an option from the drop-down list: None (All black), Data set, Entity, Property type, Fluid type or Time series.
- Size To change the size of the marker, enter a number in the field or change the number with the arrow buttons.
- Click Apply to create the series format template and keep the tool open, or click OK to create the series format template and close the tool.
- Return to the Series Format tab on the Production Chart Tool. To visualize the effect of the template to your series group on the production chart, click Apply and keep the tool open, or click OK and close the tool.
