CoView

Using the CoView you can create high quality maps for further use in your project and for reporting purposes. Working with frameworks and templates makes creating a map in JewelSuite 2026.1 Subsurface Modeling a fast and straightforward process. You can open a CoView via Workspace > Views or by pressing Alt+F11 on your keyboard.

Upon opening a new CoView, a blank canvas with three default framework elements already present is shown in the view. These elements are Map, North Arrow and Scale bar. You can move these elements to another location on the canvas: left mouse click on an element and drag it to a new position.

To create a map, you interact with the JewelExplorer, the CoView and the CoView Manager.

CoView toolbar

The toolbar at the top of the CoView can be used to add elements and annotations, change the zoom and scale and access the Framework Manager .

Framework  Indicates the framework to be used in the CoView display. Frameworks can be created, duplicated, renamed, imported, exported or deleted using the Framework Manager ().

Save  This button is only active as long as you did not save the framework yet. When you are done setting up your framework, you save it using the Save button. This opens a dialog where you can enter a name. Click OK to save the framework with the name you have just entered. Once you have saved your framework, the framework is updated and saved automatically whenever you make a change.

Framework Manager  Opens the Framework Manager from which you can create, duplicate, rename, import, export and delete frameworks.

Add...  Opens a drop-down list, with the following options:

  • Add to Framework which lists all the elements that you can add to the CoView. Once an element has been selected for display, it is listed in the associated tab in the CoView Manager where you can change the display settings.
  • Add Annotation which lists all the annotations that you can add to the CoView. Once an annotation has been selected for display, it is listed in the associated tab in the CoView Manager where you can change the display settings.

Show placeholder  When selected, a placeholder is shown for every element or annotation that is selected for display on the canvas, but does not have content yet.

Zoom  Displays the current zoom level of the CoView. Select from a number of predefined zoom levels, or enter a user-defined value. The reset button allows you to return the value to 100% after the zoom level has been changed.

Scale  Controls the (horizontal) scale of the map element. The scale is set to Auto by default. This option sets a scale automatically to accommodate all the objects visualized on the map element. You can change the scale by:

  • Clicking on the drop-down arrow to select a predefined scale from the list.
  • Entering a user-defined scale by typing in the scale field.
  • Using the mouse to zoom in and out.

Export to PDF  Opens a dialog where you can select a folder location and specify a file name to save the current CoView as a *.pdf file. Upon opening, the folder location of the solution is listed.
