Auxiliary information, adding or editing a DMS link

Important  You can display auxiliary information only in the 3D View, the 2D View and the Well View.

Right-click on an object in the JewelExplorer or in the active view and select Auxiliary Information > Add > DMS Link from the context menu. This option opens the Select a DMS Solution form where you can select a solution that was previously saved to DMS. To be able to select a DMS solution and add a link to it, you first have to connect to DMS, see Connecting to DMS. After you have established the connection, you can continue with your selection on the Select a DMS Solution form.

Next, on the Add Auxiliary Information form, you need to specify the settings listed below. Depending on the selected object to which you are adding the link to the DMS solution, the options on this form can vary.

  1. Title  Upon opening the form, the default name that is already filled in is 'DMS Link'. If you want, you can replace this text with your own text.
  2. Address  Shows the DMS server url where the DMS solution you selected on the previous form is stored. Click the Select file button to select another solution. Click the Follow link button to open a new instance of the application with the selected DMS solution.
  3. Depth scale  Select which depth scale to use. Select from MD, TVDSS or TVD.
  4. Depth  Enter the depth at which you want to add the DMS link. When you are displaying your auxiliary data, it will be visible at this depth.
  5. Click OK to save your settings, link to the DMS solution and close the form.
  6. To show or hide auxiliary information for an object in a 3D View or 2D view, either use the checkbox of the data in the JewelExplorer (all auxiliary data is stored in an Auxiliary Data folder under the object it belongs to), or use the Auxiliary Data > Show option in the context menu of the object. To show or hide auxiliary information for a wellbore in the Well View, use the context menu in the auxiliary information track.
