Restart files

Restart files are used as starting points for extending simulations. Often a restart file represents the result of the history matching. Successive runs to explore development options start from the restart state.

By default, no restart states are created for a simulation. The creation of restart states is specified in the General Settings view for the simulator. To use a restart state in another simulation, the simulation case that generated the restart state is referenced from the second simulation. This is done on the simulation case panel of the workflow. The simulation case to be referenced must be in the same simulation case folder as the second simulation.
