Shift & Scale

Shift & Scale are relatively simple data transformation operations that can help you improve a data distribution without changing the shape of the histogram. It allows you to move a data set, for instance, if unwanted negative values are present, and scale the values to the desired range. The default values for Shift and Scale are zero and one, and do not affect the data in case you would apply them. Note that the transformations will not influence the shape or skewness of the distribution.

Parameters

Shift value  Enter the required shift value. By default the Mean value of the data is provided, which gives you an indication of the transformation needed to obtain a distribution suited to the geostatistic modeling or simulation, with Mean = 0.

Scale value  Enter the required scale value. By default, the scale value is the standard deviation value of the data, which gives you an indication of the transformation needed to obtain a distribution suited to the geostatistic modeling or simulation, with a standard deviation = 1.

Reset to mean, standard deviation  Click this button to shift and scale parameters to the mean and standard deviation of the data, which has the effect of shifting the mean to zero and scaling the standard deviation to one.
