Truncation
Truncation can restrict the input data range between a minimum and a maximum value. You can apply it to the input data or to the output (modeled) data, or to both. For Truncation, no back transformation is applied.
Parameters
Minimum / Maximum Set the minimum and maximum to restrict the range of the input data. Truncation can be necessary if there are exceptional data values at the low and/or high end of the input data range that you consider unreliable and which you do not want to include in the calculation of a variogram and interpolation/simulation. The truncated data are either labeled as ‘undefined’ or given the high/low value of the specified data range (see next options on the form). By default the entry fields show the min and max values of the input data before the truncation transformation.
Set outliers to nearest bound Values outside the range are given the min. or max. value of the data range you specified under Minimum / Maximum.
Set outliers to undefined Values outside the data range you specified are given an ‘Undefined’ value.
Reset to input min/max Resets the Min/Max entry fields to the initial values before the truncation transformation.
