Converting units
You can use the Unit Conversion tool (Home > Settings > Units > Unit Conversion) to convert a value to a different unit. Unit conversion is based on a single unit system quantity and, therefore, you can use it only between the units applicable to that quantity.
When you select the source and target unit, the conversion factor between the two unit types is shown in the lower part of the form. You specify a value to get the exact conversion result. Although the converted result is not directly inserted into any input field, you can copy and paste the value as needed.
Converting a value to a different unit
- Open the Unit Conversion interface by clicking the Unit Conversion button in the Settings sub-strip.
- Select a unit system quantity in the Quantity drop-down list.
- Give a value in the Value field. The values in the result fields at the bottom of the form will update as you type the value.
- Select the source unit and the target unit in the From unit and To unit fields, respectively. The conversion results at the bottom of the form will change to reflect the new unit selections. You can click the Swap button to quickly swap the source and target units and review the converted value.
Conversion factors
Conversion factors are used when values are converted from one unit to another, using the SI unit system as a common baseline:
