Well Groups view
The Well Groups view is used to define well group information like production rates, injection rates, sales, and consumption rates. This view can only be opened via the Case Explorer; expand the case of interest and double-click the Well Groups item to open the view.
Well Groups tab
The Well Groups tab allows you to define the name of the groups in the simulation and indicate if these groups are active.
Group Trees tab
The Group Trees tab is used to configure the well groups by defining the parent/child relationships.
Date/Time Simulation time at which parent/child relationship is defined.
Child Group Name of child well group.
Parent Group Name of parent well group.
Group Production Rates tab
The Group Production Rates tab defines constraints for the well groups containing production wells.
Date/Time Simulation time at which parent/child relationship is defined.
Group Name of the well group.
Control One of NONE, ORAT, WRAT, GRAT, LRAT, RESV, PRBL, WGRA, CVAL, FLD.
QOIL Oil production target or upper limit.
QWAT Water production target or upper limit.
QGAS Gas production target or upper limit.
QLIQ Liquid production target or upper limit.
Procedure Action to take on exceeding maximum rate limit. One of NONE, CON, +CON, WELL, PLUG, RATE.
Free If checked, group is free to respond to higher level production rate target.
Group Injection Rates tab
The Group Injection Rates tab defines constraints for well groups containing injectors.
Date/Time Simulation time at which parent/child relationship is defined.
Group Name of the well group.
Phase One of WATER, GAS, OIL.
Control One of NONE, RATE, RESV, REIN, VREP, WGRA, FLD.
Qstd Surface injection rate target or upper limit.
Qres Total reservoir volume injection target or upper limit.
Reinjection Reinjection fraction target or upper limit.
Voidage Total voidage replacement target or upper limit.
Free If checked, group is free to respond to higher level injection rate target.
Group Economic Limit tab
The Group Economic Limit tab defines economic limit data for groups and the field.
Date/Time Simulation time at which parent/child relationship is defined.
Group Name of the well group.
Min QOIL Minimum oil production rate.
Min QGAS Minimum gas production rate
Max WCUT Maximum group or field water cut
Max GOR Maximum group or field gas/oil ratio
Max WGR Maximum group or field water/gas ratio.
Procedure Workover procedure. One of NONE, CON + CON,WELL, PLUG, ALL.
End Run? Simulation run is ended if all well in group are shut in.
Max Open Wells Maximum number of open wells subordinate to this group.
Group Production Gas Sales tab
The Group Production Gas Sales tab defines sales gas production controls for fields or groups.
Date/Time Simulation time at which parent/child relationship is defined.
Group Name of the well group.
QGAS Sales gas production rate target.
Max QGAS Maximum sales gas production rate.
Min QGAS Minimum sales gas production rate.
Procedure Action on exceeding maximum rate. One of NONE, CON, +CON, WELL, PLUG, RATE, MAXR, END.
Group Gas Consumption Rates tab
The Group Gas Consumption Rates tab defines gas consumption and import rates for well groups.
Import QGAS Gas import rate for group.
Consumption QGAS Gas consumption rate for groupConsumption Fraction
Consumption Fraction Fraction of total production that is consumed.
