Mapping properties on the unfaulted grid

Once you have created the unfaulted grid, you can map the 3D grid properties from the source grid to the unfaulted grid using the Map Properties form (simulation > ConnectFlow > Map Properties). For mapping properties, the 'XYK mapping' method is used. For more control on property mapping, you can also use the Property Mapping Tool.

If you are using an existing unfaulted grid from your solution, in the previous step of the workflow - Creating an unfaulted grid, this form will be skipped as the 3D grid properties have already been mapped on the existing unfaulted grid that you selected.

Mapping the properties

  1. Select the Model of interest from the drop down list. The Source grid and Target grid, linked to your fracture model, are displayed under. The 3D grid properties from your source grid are listed in the table.
  2. Check the box adjacent to the listed 3D grid properties that you want to map on the unfaulted grid. Optionally, use the checkbox at the top of the table to select all the properties in the table.
  3. Click Apply to map the properties and keep the form open, or click OK to map the properties and proceed to the selecting Faults in the next step.

In the JewelExplorer, the mapped grid properties are stored under the Properties folder of the associated unfaulted 3D grid. Note that the properties mapped on the unfaulted 3D grid are available only in the solution and are not exported to the ConnectFlow.
